Director of Sensor Development
Honeybee Robotics seeks experienced and exceptionally well-qualified candidates for Director of Sensor Development. This is a full time position based in New York City.
DESCRIPTION:
- Lead development of advanced sensor systems for high-reliability defense, space, and industrial applications
- Lead business development through professional networking, proposal planning and writing, and generation of marketable concepts
- Mature products for commercialization and sale to government customers or private industry
- Advise all stages of development, from concept to production
REQUIREMENTS:
- MS or MBA; PhD with published track record is preferred
- Familiarity with DoD applications, development and procurement processes
- 8+ years experience in a corporate or military/civil service environment, including a successful track record of the following:
- Securing development funding for advanced sensor systems
- Commercializing products for high-reliability applications
- Systems engineering and/or project management
- Extensive hands-on multidisciplinary engineering experience, including at least three of the following:
- Board-level high-speed analog and/or digital design
- Real-time signal processing on FPGA and/or DSP hardware
- Optical and/or electro-optical system design
- Image processing, computer vision, and/or sensor data fusion
- Mechanical system and machine design

Internship program
We hire interns for full-time work in the summer months as well as during the semester. If you are interested in applying, please send your resume to jobs@honeybeerobotics.com no later than March 1st for consideration for the upcoming summer, or no later than two months prior to the start of semester you are interested in. Interns are typically ME or EE students who have completed their junior year.
