LUNAR PNEUMATIC EXCAVATOR
Below is a 3D Visualization of Honeybee Robotics Lunar Pneumatic Excavator. This unique concept uses gas to excavate and transport lunar material to a heat exchanger for ISRU (In Situ Resource Utilization). Experimental tests have shown that with 1 gram of gas at 7 psi over 5000 grams of soil can be excavated. This is a unique concept using compressed gas to excavate and transport lunar material to a heat exchanger for ISRU (In Situ Resource Utilization). The work was performed over the Summer of 2008.
The video was produced by Jeroen Lapre working with DigitalSpace Corporation for Kris Zacny of Honeybee Robotics.
