Deployment & Positioning

Stpsat1Deployment and positioning mechanisms are possibly the most common spacecraft mechanism. Solar arrays, communications antennas, and payload instruments are examples of items that must first be deployed from their launch configuration and then pointed toward a target.

Examples of deployment and positioning mechanisms that we develop include:

  • Solar Array Drives
  • Solar Array/Panel Deployment Mechanisms
  • Hold-Down & Release Mechanisms
  • Instrument Cover Deployment
  • Instrument Positioning
