The docking and coupling of spacecraft or robotic subsystems present complicated dynamics problems, accompanied with significant risks to the system and its payloads. Whether required for on-orbit or surface operations, robust docking and coupling systems must tolerate misalignment, handle large loads and operate under harsh conditions.

Over the past two decades, Honeybee Robotics has developed docking systems for both on-orbit and surface operations, including coupling mechanisms for lunar surface systems. Drawing on our experience with flight mechanism design, robotic automation, and dust-tolerant mechanisms, our docking and coupling mechanisms are robust, highly reliable, and customizable for a range of applications.
