Based on over 25 years of experience in flight electromechanical system development, Honeybee has created high-resolution rotary encoders for advanced space systems. Our hollow shaft rotary, developed for our Microsatellite control moment gyroscopes, offer differential A, B, and index tracks in a small, modular package — just 46mm square and 8.5mm tall.
The unit is radiation hardened up to 100 krad and can operate from -40C to +60C. The diffractive encoder also offers clean analog signals which can be used for interpolation to offer up to 21 bits of resolution. Parts are screened to NASA EEE-INST-002 Level 1.
