The Avior line of complementary components includes Linear Torque Modules (LTM’s) that convert the rotary motion of an Avior motor into reliable and accurate linear translation. These ruggedized modules may be configured with numerous output ball-screw configurations, depending on the application requirements. Unlike other designs, Avior LTM’s do not utilize any retaining rings or snap rings, avoiding the typical problem of thrust loading on snap rings. Additionally, the same preloaded duplex bearings that maintain concentric alignment of the linear ball-screw to the rotary planetary gearbox also provide high radial load capacity of the ball-screw. With matched coefficient of expansion materials and dry film lubrication option, Avior LTM’s can operate from -269º C to +300ºC. Higher temperatures are available with special materials. Standard low-outgassing wet lubricants can operate down to -70º C, in a high vacuum environment.
