Solar Array Drive Assemblies
For more than a decade, Honeybee Robotics has been leading designer and manufacturer of Solar Array Drive Assemblies (SADA’s). While we often design customized solutions to meet specific requirements, we currently offer two standard configurations that address a wide range of applications. Our Small-Sat SADA uses an integrated stepper motor, potentiometer and slip ring to provide continuous rotation of a solar array about one axis. As the name implies, it is intended for “small-sats” or ESPA-class satellites, and can transfer up to 1.5 kW of power. The Micro-Sat SADA is a smaller mechanism intended for the micro-sat market. It uses a twist capsule for an angular rotation of +/-180O, and transfers up to 450 W of power. Other qualified designs include an even smaller cube-sat SADA and our unique low-cost SADA currently in high-volume production for the OneWeb constellation.
